Rawa or Suji Dhokla



Hello All

Breakfast is very important meal of our day.Its play vital role for our body in our daily routine.According to research also it is found that the people who do breakfast are thinner and healthy then who skips.Eating breakfast keeps us more energetic , Lively ,smarter and more productive.So in order too kick start your day with energy have your breakfast before living for work.

We should start our day with a glass of warm water as our first drink in morning.After that you can take 4-5 almonds which were soaked overnight.Then you can wait for at least 40-45 mins and can proceed for breakfast.In this way we are giving right thing to our body at right time.In busy life people don't get time to have breakfast.But for that also we have solution.Like we can take some nuts in a box with us to office or we can have an apple or banana.Sometimes my husband also will be in hurry and have no time to eat something before living for work.So will be giving him a box with nuts or an apple or chopped cucumber with some salt and lemon.A glass of milk is also good option when we are behind time.




Today will be talking here about one popular breakfast recipe i.e Rawa Dhokla.Its healthy and also very easy to make.It will be in awesome taste and liked by everyone.Quickly you can make it in no time.I prefer this once in a week in my breakfast menu.So lets start :-




Ingredients :-

1 cup Suji or Rawa
1/4 cup Rice Flour
1/2 cup Curd
1 Packet Eno ( If you don't have eno , you can use 1 tsp baking soda )
1/2 tsp of Vegetable Oil
Salt to taste
Water to make batter

For Tempering :-

4-5 medium size sliced green chilies 
1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
1-2 dry red chili (optional)
1 tsp Sesame seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1-2 tbsp of oil
5-7 curry leaves

Procedure :-

In a bowl take Suji , Rice flour , salt , curd.Mix it add water in order to make a lump free batter.The consistency should be dropping(but  not free flowing).Add 1/2 tsp of oil and give one final mix.Keep aside the mixture for 15-20 mins so that the Suji gets properly puffed up.Keep some water in a big vessel on gas and  cover it.Once steam started coming out its time to keep the dhokla for steaming. Grease a tray with oil.To the mixture add Eno and some water.Give a final stir and pour the batter in the tray.Place the tray inside the steamer.Cover it.Keep flame on medium.And cook it for 20 mins.




After 20 mins open the cover.By inserting knife check whether the dhokla is cooked or not.If knife comes out clean, dhokla is done.In another small pan heat oil.Once hot add mustard seeds, red chili.Once seeds splutter add sliced green chilies.Cook for 1-2 mins.Then add sesame seeds and curry leaves.After 1 min add chopped coriander leaves.And cook foe another 1 min.

Then spread this tempering on dhokla tray nicely covering whole plate,Cut it in a desired shape.Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
