Baked Mini Samosa



Hello All

Winter is here :) :)...  Thanda thanda ..Cool Cool... After shifting to US... I get feared with the name winter... Whenever I think of Winter I start shivering.... Sometime it looks good but most of the time it feels bored in winters.. as whole day sitting at home.. full covered... And the main thing which is connected to winter is hot yummy Food :) :)... Most of would be agree with me right ... I know.. already After coming to US life became too lazy.. as a housewife not much work to do here.. and we end up mostly watching tv.. listening song... and eating different types of snacks whole day :( .... 

Now sitting whole day .. eating ... results in weight gain... :( :( ... sad story for every Indian wife of Software engineer living in US :P ...  Most of you will surely connect with me on this point...  In winter the hunger becomes more promising.... due to cold we want to eat some hot ... fried food..  to get comfort.Thinking of much fried .. we mostly have bad nightmares of weight gain ... cholesterol .. etc..But making our mind to say no is also too tough :( ... 

My husband from so many days telling me to make samosa ... but I was taking my hands back... as normally we make pakodas ... dal vadas .. frying papads ...  oily ... So again Samosa... But can't say him no na :) .. He is my life... and I want to fulfill all his wishes .... Love him a lot :) ... ohh too emotional at this point... newly married na.. It happens with everyone yr :) :) ... So then I thought of making Samosas but not deep fried ... Baked Samosa :) :) ... So husband bhi khush and hum bhi khush :) :) ... Guilt free eating :)



It came out very nice.. crispy ... and yummy... Above my expectation... So today will share with you this amazing and mouthwatering Mini Baked Samosa Recipe.. Let's start with it :) :)

Ingredients for Samosa Dough:-

1 cup maida or all purpose flour
1 tsp carom seeds
1 tsp salt
2-3tbsp of oil
water

Procedure : -

In a bowl take flour , carom seeds , salt and oil.Mix it well.So that oil get mixed up properly in flour.Try to crumble the flour.Then with the help of water knead a dough.And let it rest for 20-25 mins.Meanwhile prepare filling.

Ingredients for Aloo filling:-

4-5 medium size boiled Potato
2-3 green chilly finely chopped(or as per your taste)
3-4 curry leaves
1 tsp of cumin seeds
1 tsp of mustard seeds
1/2 tsp of asafoetida
1/2 tsp red chilly powder ( or as per your taste)
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp amchoor powder or mango powder ( optional )
1/4 tsp of sugar
salt to taste

1 tbsp of oil
coriander leaves to garnish

Procedure :-

In a pan heat a oil.Once hot add asafoetida, mustard and cumin seeds.Then add green chilly.Roast for a minute.Then add curry leaves.And add all masalas except amchoor powder .Saute for a few seconds.Add potatoes.. Mix well.Let it cook for 3-4 mins.Then add amchoor powder and give a quick proper mix.finally garnish with coriander leaves.Let the filling cool down before you fill in samosas. 

Preparation of Samosa : -

Once the filling cool down , lets make Samosa. Make small balls.Roll one one at a time.Not roll much thin.. but not too thick... Then cut them into half.Make the shape of samosa , fill the filling .. apply water on the ends. And seal the samosa.. Once all done.. On aluminium foil place all the samosa as shown in the pic and apply very little oil with brush or hands on samosa ..



And preheat the oven at 380 degree Fahrenheit .. Cook for around 30-40 mins depends on oven ... Flip it in between 2-3 times. Once done serve hot with Chutney ... or Tomato Sauce :) :)
